Menards is a Midwest staple that punches above its weight against Home Depot and Lowes. Their selection across garden, kitchen, lighting, and tools is impressive, and their weekly rebate program through the BIG Card can save you serious money if you are patient enough to mail in the forms. The 90-day return policy is fair, and 3-7 day delivery is competitive. Where Menards really shines is garden and outdoor — their seasonal selection of plants, patio furniture, and landscaping materials is excellent and well-priced. Tools and hardware are solid too, with a good mix of name brands and budget options. Kitchen and dining selections are decent but more limited than specialty retailers. The website could use a major refresh though — navigation feels clunky and product photos are sometimes lacking. They also accept personal checks, which is increasingly rare. Great store if you are in their service area, just temper expectations for the online experience.
